OK, I Have To Confess

So I did something very bad today. A big no-no, a taboo for any citizen in the modern day USA.

I drove further than I had to and used more gas than absolutely necessary.

I know, I know, it's absolutely terrible, but I couldn't resist. It was sunny and 75. I was on my way back from the gym driving the convertible, drinking an iced tea. Stopping would have been somewhat bearable if that was all, but to top it off I was listening to the Santana album I have and my favorite song came on about a minute before I got home. I had no choice, none at all. I had to keep going to give the song its due.

And though it was a short detour, it was absolutely worth it. I got to spend an extra three minutes driving the sunny roads with some good music before I got back to a schedule. The best thing happened, too - I took a left on my way back home and found a freshly paved road, no lines or curb or anything. It was beautiful and long and smooth... I'm pretty sure I could have pushed the car gently with my pinky finger and it would have rolled for half a mile, it was that smooth. And though it probably cost me two bucks of gas for a two mile detour, I think it was the best usage of over-priced gas that anyone could ask for.
